Ontario ARC to Host Symposium Focused on Aging Independent, Not Alone – Ontario ARC

Ontario ARC’s Aging Symposium, “Aging Independent, Not Alone,” returns featuring keynote speaker Laura Robinson, MPH, University of Rochester Medical Center on Thursday, September 29, 2016. The event will take place from 8AM – 3PM at Ontario ARC’s main facility located at 3071 County Complex Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Topics in the Aging Symposium will include:Impact of Aging on Areas of Independence, presented by keynote speaker, Laura Robinson, MPH, University of Rochester Medical Center

Emotional and Social Health & Aging: How Pets & Pet Therapy Help Maintain Independence, presented by Brenda Burton, OTR & Gail Furst, CPDT KA, Ontario ARC

Cognitive Health & Aging: Tips, Tricks, & Tools to Help Maintain Independence, presented by Nanette Friedman, Director of Educational Services, Alzheimer’s Association

Physical Health & Aging: Supports for the Person and Caregiver to Help Maintain Independence, presented by Robin Barclay, PT, Safe at Home Physical Therapy

The cost to attend the Aging Symposium is $60 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Registration is due by September 23, 2016.
