The donations are coming in a little slower than expected and the deadline for collection is fast approaching. The food is designated to go towards needy children in the area and will provide meals for young students through the weekend.
Genesee ARC representative Shelly Falitico said…”The agency we’re looking to help is the United Way Backpack Program, which is a wonderful program that helps students throughout our area that may have some food insufficientcy and they receive the food on Fridays at the end of the school week and we are definitely gathering items that can be packable…granola bars, juice boxes, single serve cereals, fruit, instant oatmeal, ramen noodles, canned meals like ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs or any individual snack pack…”
Drop off points for the food stuffs are located at the Genesee ARC on 64 Walnut Street or 38 Woodrow Road, Lawley Genesee or the Tonawanda Valley Federal Credit Union, Five Star Bank in Batavia and LeRoy, The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office the YMCA, the Office for the Aging or here are WBTA studios. The deadline for donation is February 26th.
