The DHS Art Department recently took part in the Miracle League of Western New York’s first Miracle Halloween Fundraiser. Over thirty students participated in the project, coming to work after school and during their own time, to create pumpkin masterpieces.  Spoth’s Farm of Clarence generously donated the pumpkins, making it possible for so many students to take part in the event. The pumpkins were auctioned silent auction style in the Inspired Gallery at DHS and $330 was raised through written bids. All proceeds will benefit the Miracle League of WNY. Miracle League provides opportunities for children and young adults with disabilities to play Miracle League baseball, regardless of their abilities. This was the first year of the fundraiser but as a result of its great success we are looking forward to painting many more pumpkins in years to come!
