Grants announced to aid girls in middle, high school

The WNY Women’s Foundation announces that it will provide $18,682 in grants to five local non-profit organizations for programs that help girls in middle school and high school. They include:

The NativityMiguel Middle School Out-of-School-Time Program, which provides the “Girls on the Run” after-school program for girls from St. Monica’s School, $5,000; Valley Community Association’s “Building Up the Future” program for fifth- to eighth-grade girls, $3,882; Peace of the City Ministries entrepreneurial programs for girls 12 to 18 on Buffalo’s West Side, $5,000; and Cradle Beach and Computers for Children, which will provide a STEAM program for girls in Cradle Beach Project SOAR at International Preparatory School at Grover Cleveland in Buffalo, $4,800.
