This summer, AutismUp is delighted to be providing numerous programs to help and support local individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In order to make these events a great success and to promote a supportive environment for learning and growth, we require the help of excited and passionate volunteers to breathe life into our programs. We hope you can pass along the following information to your students, as volunteering with AutismUp is a great opportunity for you and your organization to help children and teens with ASD in really fun activities! Not only do these opportunities look great on a resume, but they also provide a unique and rewarding experience.
Approaching fast is the 7th Annual iCan Bike Camp, taking place July 13th – 17th at RIT. Volunteers are needed to support children with ASD and other disabilities learn how to ride a bike. There will be 1 – 2 volunteers assisting expert trainers with each child, as they will jog alongside the bikes, helping the children to stay upright and prevent them from falling. Time slots, each lasting 45 minutes, are available throughout the day as follows:
· Session #1: 8:15 am – 9:30 am
· Session #2: 9:50 am – 11:05 am
· Session #3: 11:25 am – 12:40 pm
· Session #4: 1:40 pm – 2:55 pm
· Session #5: 3:15 pm – 4:30 pm
