BUFFALO, N.Y. — It felt a bit like the 1960s in downtown Buffalo on Saturday night.
The Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center held its Good Vibrations Tie-Dye Gala Dinner at the Hyatt Regency.
The 60s themed party included silent and live auctions, and an Out of Sight Cocktail party.
All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center, with most of the money funding its Language to Literacy program, which is designed to help teach people how to read.
Guests were encouraged to dress up in 1960s attire.
Organizers were hoping to raise at least $100,000 for the Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center, and say the turnout was encouraging.
“We’re just thrilled, everything is just going as planned, we’ve got a great crowd, we plan on making a lot of money for the center, which, obviously is the most important thing and hopefully we’ll walk away tonight and be able to help a lot of kids,” said Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center Co-Chairman Lou Billittier.
The party continues into Sunday with a Brunch in the Bistro featuring a 60s trivia contest.
