Buffalo Hearing & Speech expands to Chicago through merger – Buffalo – Buffalo Business First

Buffalo Hearing & Speech is working on a merger that will bring a Chicago agency into the nonprofit corporation.

Following approvals in December by both boards of directors, the Buffalo-based agency will become the sole corporate member of the Center for Speech and Language Disorders (CSLD), a 45-year-old agency that provides speech therapy services, specializing in a disorder called hyperlexia.

The two agencies began working together a few years ago. CSLD executives had done some online research and found the Buffalo organization, an $18 million provider with 400 employees that offers a range of therapeutic speech and hearing services, preschool education, literacy and autistic services.
