ROCHESTER — Participants will be “Freezin’ for a Reason” at Ontario Beach State Park Sunday, Feb. 8 to benefit Special Olympics New York.
The Polar Plunge is one of Rochester’s largest and most attended winter events while acting as the flag ship fundraiser for Special Olympics New York, earning over $300,000 annually.
Registration and check-in is from 9 to 11 a.m. Saurday and the plunge begins at noon.
The day includes everything from great entertainment, excellent food, and a costume contest, all of course leading up to the big Plunge into the chilly waters of Lake Ontario! Participants are asked to raise at least $60 to Plunge with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics. Participants will also receive an official Polar Plunge hoodie!
